We would like to acknowledge the passing of a dear friend and former board member of the Walther Cancer Foundation, Dr.
Harold Burdette. Dr. Burdette passed away October 12, 2009.
Dr. Burdette was a long-time friend and colleague of our founder, Dr. Joseph Walther. As a member of the Walther Board, he was instrumental in the development of the Mary Margaret Walther Program and the Behavioral Cooperative Oncology Group. His professional life exemplified his belief in the importance of the patient and family, not just the disease. Dr. Burdette’s efforts have made a difference for the past, the present, and the future care of oncology patients.
Calling will be held October 16th at the Pearson Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY. He will be buried in the family plot at the Roachdale Cemetery in Roachdale, Indiana on October 17th.
